Xagó Beach

A beach with natural surroundings and golden sand.

Following the road that runs along the coastal plain toward Avilés from the beaches of Verdicio, we’ll reach the vast sandy beach of Xagó, a beach surrounded by an extensive dune ecosystem of great ecological and botanical value—probably the best-preserved in our natural paradise.

Very crowded in the summer, but there are also quiet spots to play, exercise, or take a stroll while watching the surfers along its nearly 2-kilometer stretch all the way to Punta de la Garza. You might even spot a paraglider in the sky who has taken off from the slate cliffs of Cabo Negro.

Popular with fishermen and surfers because of its strong waves, it is very exposed to northeasterly winds, so it is advisable to swim with caution.
