Carniciega Beach
The port and beach of our ancestors—a beach with a natural setting and golden sands.
Also known as Barquera Beach, Carniciega can be reached by walking along the trails that run alongside the cliffs surrounding it, or—at low tide—from the western end of Verdicio Beach. It is a beautiful, peaceful golden-sand beach of great scenic value, which was likely used as a fishing port in ancient times. Nearby, you can see the ruins of the Garabetales hill fort.
