Playa del Dique

A semi-urban beach with golden sand and gravel.

Connected to L’Aramar at low tide, its name comes from the breakwater that enclosed a small harbor where the remains of an old, traditional shipyard—one of the most important in the town of Luanco—can still be seen today, right where the Cañeo Creek flows into the sea.

In fact, El Dique and L’Aramar were the sites of the town’s earliest whaling activities, as evidenced by the remains of cetacean bones found on La Ribera Beach.

Together, these two coves are one of the most charming spots in the area, with large trees right on the beach.
