Moniello Beach

A coastal park with a pebble beach and natural pools.

Moniello is a rocky cove and natural harbor on the outskirts of Luanco, still used as an anchorage for small boats and accessible by car via a well-marked turnoff on the GO-1 highway, which runs past the La Corona residential development and leads to the parking lot of the vast recreational area situated on the cliff—together forming Moniello Beach Park. This well-maintained site, equipped with all the amenities needed to enjoy the Gozoniega coast for days on end, is very popular with people of all ages throughout the year, who come to the beach park to sunbathe, relax, walk, play, or have a picnic.

But without a doubt, its greatest attraction is the spectacular panoramic views of the coastal landscape that can be admired while strolling along its trails and meadows, from Punta de la Vaca to Cabo Peñas.

And its greatest charm, the pools located below Punta L’Agüión—known as the Pozas l’Agüión—natural pools that form at low tide on the cliff face among large limestone formations and spectacular grooves (lapiaces) that shift as the slippery rock layer twists and turns.

The greenway, which runs along the coastline and connects Luanco with Bañugues, is one of the best ways to explore this splendid area.
