Verdicio Beach

A beach with natural surroundings and golden sand.

To the west of Cabo Peñas, in a beautiful natural setting, lies Verdicio Beach—also known as Tenrero—which is probably one of the most popular beaches among swimmers in central Asturias. With its strong waves, it attracts surfers and fishermen year-round.

Verdicio, with its shell-like shape and thick golden sands, stands out for its extensive dune field, which is of great ecological value due to its flora—including some vulnerable species that you should respect on your way to the beach. To the east, the view reveals a chain of islets (Los Negros, Las Prietas, El Burro…) and the imposing silhouette of Cabo Peñas jutting out into the sea opposite Erbosa Island.

Paleolithic archaeological sites and the “El Cuerno” hill fort have been found in the surrounding area, among the hills visible toward Peñas.
