Bañugues Beach
A beach steeped in history, set in a rural setting with golden sands.
This peaceful sandy beach is located just 2 kilometers from the town of Luanco and lies in a deep cove that, at low tide, stretches 500 meters from the water’s edge to the seagrass beds. It’s an ideal beach for families or children—spacious and peaceful, with all the amenities and a rocky shore full of surprises between tides.
Bañugues is notable for its history, serving as an important landmark in Asturian archaeology thanks to recent discoveries at the Traslaiglesia site and the Lower Paleolithic site found east of the beach. In addition, there is evidence that a Roman villa was located here during the Roman era.
The beach offers lifeguard service during the summer, parking, recreational areas, trash cans, restrooms, showers, accessibility, security, camping, recycling, and food service.
