In keeping with the time-honored tradition of decorating fountains with branches for the festival of San Xuan, and with the aim of highlighting and preserving the municipality’s ethnographic heritage, the Gozón City Council is organizing the 10th Decorated Fountains Contest.
Every year, neighborhood, cultural, and women’s associations take part in this initiative by decorating fountains and washhouses in the various parishes with flowers, branches, and natural elements, transforming them into true works of folk art. To make it easier to visit the different participating sites, the City Council provides a free bus service for residents and visitors.
